Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontics refers to the branch of dentistry that deals with the rearrangement or realignment of teeth. Our Orthodontists have specialized training in dealing with facial abnormalities and disorders of the jaw. We do so by fixing braces (appliances worn to align the teeth and can either be fixed or removable).

Fixed braces are fixed to the teeth and only removed when the teeth are properly aligned. They are one of the most effective ways of arranging or aligning the teeth. They could be made of metal, gold or ceramics.

Removable braces unlike the Fixed, can be taken out of the mouth to be cleaned.

We also apply the following types of braces:

Metal Braces: Consists of metal brackets and wire and these are what people picture when the word “braces” is mentioned

Ceramic Braces: Comprises tooth colored or clear brackets that blend in to teeth and are less noticeable than metal braces. In some cases tooth colored wires are also used making the appearance even less noticeable.

Lingual Braces: These braces are attached on the inside of the teeth which makes them invisible from the outside.

Invisalign: This is an invisible yet comfortable way to align the teeth and consist of series of custom-made clear plastic aligners that are intermittently removed and replaced.
